Offensive pass interference is a loss of down, therefore the offense loses their chance to replay the down. NO Points scored. It happened in a game last year.
BTW, the crew missed it.
It being a loss of down: is this a recent rule change or is it something that's been for quite some time? I've seen it done the opposite several times.

I've never seen loss of down at any level on offensive pass interference...I have seen variations of the penalty yardage..sometimes 10 and sometimes 15 yards. If it has been changed to a loss of down, it needs to be changed back.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
OPI is a loss of down. No points awarded, and loss of try.

Correct. OPI has been a loss of down in High School football for atleast the last 19 years. Other loss of down fouls are Illegal Touching, Intentional Grounding, Illegal forward pass. Fouls with an automatic first down are any Roughing Penalty such as the passer, kicker, holder, and snapper and Defensive Pass interference.

I'm thinking it was a kicker call, in 92, 93. Got the opposing coach -45 and thrown out of the game at Appy. Whatever it was, the play/penalty happened after a punt and gave the Dawgs the ball back, time they tossed the coach it went from punting at Appy's 35 to them to moving the ball inside their 20 and giving it back to Appy.
It happened to us Friday night but we did not miss it.

so it's automaticall a loss of down and no points awarded. But will there be any penalty yardage on the following kick off?
